We are celebrating many festivals throughout the year, every month comes with a new festivals like holi, diwali, eid, ramjan, navratri and many more.

Now the coming one is diwali, the festival of lights. Light means purity, devotion, happiness faith love and knowledge.

Deepawali is the great and very religious festival of India. It is very important occasion of Hindu culture. This celebration held on winter season during the month of October to the November. This festival is celebrated with the joy and happiness in every state of India. In this day lord Ram return to ayodhya after killing the  demon king Ravan, people of ayodhya light up the city with diyas(lamps) to welcome the return of the load Ram.

  • Deepawali festival begins from the day of dhanteras, thirteenth lunar day of krishnapaksha of Hindu calendar in the month of ashwin. On this day people buy some gold and utensils, hence the name ‘dhana’. This day is celebrated as the birthday of Dhanmantri (a vaidya or physician of devas).
  • Second day is celebrated as the narak chaturdashi 14th day of Krishna paksha of ashwin month. Narak chaturdasi, which is the day killing the demon narakasur by Lord Krishna and his wife satyabhama.
  • Third day, the dipawali, the day of amavasya. Real celebration is held on this day , godess lakshmi godess of welth and lord ganesha,lord of knowledge  are  worshiped by his devotees. at the night houses and temples are decorated by the rangoli and rows of dias or candles and flowers.

  • Fourth day bali pratipada or goverdhanpuja
  • Fifth day is celebrated the baiduj (bhaubeej) celebrated on the second lunar day of sukla paksha of hindu calendar month of kartik.

Ganesh chaturthi is also known as “vinayak chaturthi’’ or “ vinayak chavithi’’. it is celebrated during the Hindu month bhadrapada (mid august to mid September) it last for 10 days and ending on the day of “Anant Chaturdashi’’.

On this festival, idols of lord Ganesha worshiped by the devotees. It is celebrated as the presence of lord Ganesha on earth during this festival period.

Ganesha is widely worshiped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. In Hindu culture, Ganesha traditionally worshiped at the beginning of any good or new venture and at the start of travel.

Steps for fabric painting

  1. Choose a fabric material for painting, before Painting wash the cloth, dry it, and iron the cloth.
  2. Choose a simple design, trace this on glass or hard transparent sheet, and cut the design for making stencil
  3. Now place the stencil on cloth and apply the paint with thick brushes.
  4. Lift the stencil up from design.
  5. Let the cloth to dry for about 24 hours and after that iron the cloth at opposite side of paint.
  6. If you are able to create design or you are good in arts and drawing, you can make your own designs on fabrics.

Tulsi is a sacred plant, which can found in every home in Hindu religion. It is also called as vrinda.  People believed that tulsi is an incarnation of goddess mahalskshmi. Tulsi represent duty, dedication, virtue, love and sorrow of women and that is why women’s worship it.

Some people make rangoli or alpna for decoration and use leafs of banana, mango and sugarcane. After that offering water, kumkum, cloth and finally perform aarti. Tulsi is very important and amazing plant not only spiritual point of view but also as an herb. Tulsi is very useful for the health. Its smell make atmosphere healthy and pure and prevent us from the mosquitoes and insects by hindering the growth of these insects. Eating five leafs daily in the morning improves immunity and increase memory. Leafs of this plant is also helpful in malaria and gastrointestinal problems. It is also beneficial in the treatment of fever, cold or cough.
